I remember the emotional and actual physical release when I sold a pair of earrings from en ex. It was a great decision and your post has me considering selling a ring that was a gift from a past employer.
Yes, it felt emotional in the moment but I felt so much better afterward! It's been helpful to remind myself that my unworn/un-used items deserve to be out in the world being used and enjoyed.
Oh this is wonderful! I recently bought myself an onyx gemstone ring set in gold from the 60s or 70s. What helped me decide to buy it is a I decided that I'm finally ready to sell my wedding and engagement ring (and another ring my ex gave me) because they don't make me feel good anymore, even if they are in a drawer.
I don't know what would be on my renaissance playlist. Any tips for how to write one?
Late reply here, but YES, YES, YES I love this for you. There's something beautiful about letting go of something old and treating yourself to something *just for you* Even though my ex-ring was stashed away, it still made me feel bad.
As for tips on how to write your own Renaissance playlist, journalling definitely helped me. I wrote down what wasn't working and also the things that made me feel the most like myself & kind of went from there. I'm also a big fan of using Pinterest as a vision board! Maybe this is a post? Should I share more of my process here?!
